I have known the Stone family my whole life. I grew up with Fraser, the drummer on this track. He was one of my Best Men at my wedding in 2022, and I was one of his best men when he got married in 2011. Fraser recently commissioned me to write this tune for his father, Richard, which was a great honour. He’s an absolute stalwart of my hometown. He is the beagle in the Kirk and was an extremely reliable and ward-working council employee for many years. He is very strong and recently overcame a hard-fought battle with cancer. The tune had to be strong - only a retreat march for the pipes would do!
