Loch Insh and Loch Alvie are some of the most beautiful spots in Badenoch and homes to some of the most beautiful waders birds in Britain. The churches at both lochs are white and both stand on a wee knoll by the water’s edge so it’s often easy to get them muddled up. I did for years! This is a beautiful old Irish legend connected with swans at Loch Insh. As you'll hear, the church at Loch Insh has a famous handbell that has a wonderful story to tell of its own.
