Here’s something I’ve been developing over the years.
A guide to the modes, keys and chords of Scottish folk music. Hopefully it can unlock a few melodic ideas, clear up a few chordal mysteries and open a few doors for musicians, composers and arrangers of folk music in Scotland, Ireland and elsewhere.

Once printed, just stick it to the kitchen wall above the kettle, and explore it every time you make a cup of tea. or tape it to your your music stand or favourite notebook, carry it about with you in your guitar case or use as a teaching aid for your music pupils.
It's essential a book of melodic, chordal and improvisation knowledge condensed into a single A4 page. Find the famous recommended folk tunes online and learn them - they will help you truly feel and understand the modes and keys I've mentioned.
